Softball Recap: Blacksburg Bruins vs. Mecklenburg County Phoenix

Blacksburg had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Mecklenburg County Phoenix 4-3.

Evelyn Rhoads was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rhoads has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive pitching appearances. Rhoads was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
