Basketball Recap: Tuscarawas Valley Comes Up Short on the Road Against Carrollton

Tuscarawas Valley had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Carrollton Warriors by a score of 61-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Trojans have suffered since January 17th.

Tuscarawas Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brody May, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last 15 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Cole Kuykendall, who posted 17 points and four steals.

Carrollton has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tuscarawas Valley will venture away from home to take on Strasburg-Franklin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Trojans their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Carrollton, they will head out on the road to face off against Sandy Valley at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
