Baseball Recap: Quantico Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Randolph-Macon Academy, Quantico was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Immanuel Christian na 10-9. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 6-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Gunner Wolfenbarker made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Ido Samish was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Nadav Samish, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Quantico always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Immanuel Christian only posted an OBP of .361.

The victory got Quantico back to even at 2-2. As for Immanuel Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Quantico will welcome Fredericksburg V at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Victory will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Immanuel Christian, they will host Trinity Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
