Football Game Preview: Central Grizzlies vs. Cabrillo Conquistadores

The Central Grizzlies will head out to square off against the Cabrillo Conquistadores at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Central was handed a 36-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Modesto Christian, sneaking past 21-19.

A big part of Central's victory came down to the chemistry between Andrew Sanchez and his top target Quincy Moore. Sanchez threw for 135 yards and one TD while Moore rushed for 114 yards. Moore's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards. Another big playmaker for Central was Jeremiah Lee, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Cabrillo had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 28-21 win over the Pirates.

Cabrillo's win came from a few key players Central will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Andre Brisco, who rushed for 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries. Another player making a difference was Jacob Baraceros, who rushed for 135 yards and one score while picking up 7.5 yards per carry.

Cabrillo's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Central, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
