Volleyball Recap: Frankfort's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Frankfort had to endure a five-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Carbondale Terriers by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The Redbirds were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Terriers, so the Redbirds were just returning the favor.

While Frankfort won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 26-24.

Frankfort's win bumped their record up to 10-22. As for Carbondale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-18 record this season.

Frankfort and Carbondale could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Redbirds will challenge Massac County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (467 vs. 79). Meanwhile, Carbondale (ranked 386th) will meet Carterville (ranked 190th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
