Basketball Recap: Highland Huskies vs. Salmon River Savages

After a string of three wins, Highland's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 47-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Salmon River Savages. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Savages are ranked 30th).

Despite the defeat, Highland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hailey Click went 8 for 20 on her way to 20 points and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Click has scored all season. Alli Mae Moddrell was another key player, putting up six points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Highland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 18 offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.
