Volleyball Recap: Riverton Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Riverton had already won six in a row and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They blew past the Columbus Titans 3-0. The Rams not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 25th (when they won 3-0).

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Riverton was: they took every set by at least 16 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-7, 25-9.

Leading Riverton to victory were Alexa Price and Avery Barnett. Price had eight digs and one assist, while Barnett hit 55.6% for 17 kills and seven digs and two assists. Barnett has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 52 times she's played. Amberly Youngblood also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Riverton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last 13 contests.

Riverton's win bumped their record up to 31-4-1. As for Columbus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-25-1 record this season.

Riverton will challenge Anderson County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Columbus has already played their next matchup (against Baxter Springs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
