JoJo Parker was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double.
In other batting news, Jacob Parker and Cannon Turner did some serious damage despite the final result: Jacob scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Turner got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Parker has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Forrest County Agricultural, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Perry Central on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Aggies in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.
Parks Brock was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Sean Walker, who scored a run and stole two bases.
Forrest County Agricultural always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Perry Central only posted an OBP of .276.
Forrest County Agricultural pushed their record up to 10-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Purvis, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-5 record this season.
Purvis was able to grind out a solid victory over Forrest County Agricultural in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 5-1. Will Purvis repeat their success, or does Forrest County Agricultural has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
