Basketball Game Preview: Chanhassen Storm vs. St. Louis Park Orioles

The Chanhassen Storm will face off against the St. Louis Park Orioles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Tuesday, Chanhassen ended up a good deal behind Orono and lost 80-65. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Spartans are ranked seventh).

Meanwhile, St. Louis Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They were beaten by Chaska 77-37.

Chanhassen's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points over those games. As for St. Louis Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-21.

Everything came up roses for Chanhassen against St. Louis Park in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured a 72-32 win. In that matchup, Chanhassen amassed a halftime lead of 42-20, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
