Softball Recap: Clinton Has No Trouble Against Pearl

While Clinton put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Pearl. The Clinton Arrows blew past the Pearl Pirates 12-0. The Arrows haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Makenzie Cooley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Destiny Funchess, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Clinton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Clinton's record now sits at 6-4. As for Pearl, they moved to 7-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Clinton is taking a road trip to square off against Hernando at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pearl, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Oxford at 6:30 p.m. Pearl is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
