The North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Providence Day Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
North Raleigh Christian Academy played in-conference for the first time on Thursday and got just the result they were looking for. They strolled past Ravenscroft with points to spare, taking the game 42-28. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Davin McCoy was his usual excellent self, rushing for 324 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 12.5 yards per carry. He is becoming a predictor of North Raleigh Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 5-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't).
They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Raleigh Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 428 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Providence Day never let their opponents score on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 49-0 victory over Charlotte Country Day School. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Chargers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked second, while the Buccaneers are ranked 84th).
Providence Day's win came from a few key players North Raleigh Christian Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Aidan Gallos, who rushed for 87 yards and three scores on only 12 carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Gordon Sellars was in the mix as well, providing Providence Day with two touchdowns.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Providence Day's defense and their six sacks. Jace Goodwin was especially locked on to Charlotte Country Day School's QB and sacked him 2.5 times.
North Raleigh Christian Academy's record now sits at 6-4. As for Providence Day, their record is now 10-0.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. North Raleigh Christian Academy has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 171.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Providence Day struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 184.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
North Raleigh Christian Academy was taken down by Providence Day 61-7 when the teams last played back in September of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Knights were down 47-0.
