Montini Catholic is 8-2 against Loyola Academy since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Broncos will head out on the road to face off against the Ramblers at 4:45 p.m.

Montini Catholic came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Fenwick, falling 19-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Broncos in their meetings with the Friars: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Loyola Academy). They put the hurt on Maine South with a sharp 10-0 win on Saturday. The Ramblers not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 11, 2024.

Mary McQuillen looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Gwen Coleman and Emilia Bartholomew did most of the damage at the plate: Coleman scored four runs while going 3-for-4, while Bartholomew went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four runs gave Coleman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abby Murphy, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Loyola Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive matches.

Montini Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Loyola Academy, their record now sits at 3-8.

Everything went Montini Catholic's way against Loyola Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Montini Catholic made off with a 14-3 victory. Do the Broncos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ramblers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
