Softball Game Preview: Hidalgo Pirates vs. La Villa Cardinals

The Hidalgo Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the La Villa Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hidalgo is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Hidalgo came into this matchup off a tough nine-run defeat on Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of La Joya by a score of 7-5 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for La Villa, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past IDEA Edinburg College Prep 20-1 on Friday. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for the Cardinals this season.

La Villa's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Hidalgo, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
