Soccer Game Preview: Garces Memorial vs. Porterville

The Garces Memorial Rams will challenge the Porterville Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Porterville took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Garces Memorial, who comes in off a win.

Porterville better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Garces Memorial's game on Wednesday is any indication, that's when Garces Memorial really gets things going. The Rams' defense stepped up to hand East Bakersfield a 4-0 shutout. That's two games straight that Garces Memorial have won by exactly four goals.

They hit East Bakersfield with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Maximus Stark (2), Brayden Luque, and Andrew Bolt.

Meanwhile, Porterville came up short against Mission Oak on Thursday and fell 5-3. Porterville haven't had much luck with Mission Oak recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Having lost for the first time this season, Porterville fell to 1-1-2. As for Garces Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
