Volleyball Recap: Newcomerstown Takes a Loss

Newcomerstown lost against Ridgewood back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Trojans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Generals. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Newcomerstown was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-16.

Briley Little paced Newcomerstown's offense, picking up seven kills. Little got some help from Maggie Collins and her 11 assists.

Newcomerstown's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Ridgewood, they moved to 10-12 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Newcomerstown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Crooksville on the 14th. As for Ridgewood, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Claymont on the 13th.
