It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Monroe can now relate to. They lost to the South Point Red Raiders on the road by a 61-42 margin on Friday. The Redhawks' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Monroe's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamir Jackson, who rushed for 108 yards and a pair of scores on only 14 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Simpkins, who picked up 75 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Leading South Point to victory were Kaveaun Pless and Patrick Blee. Pless rushed for 220 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.6 yards per carry, while Blee rushed for 111 yards and six scores. Those 220 rushing yards gave Pless a new career-high.

Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for South Point, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Monroe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Point, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Crest at 7:00 p.m. The Chargers' defense has only allowed 11.1 points per game this season, so the Red Raiders' offense will have their work cut out for them.
