Volleyball Recap: Hinsdale Central Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hinsdale Central can now relate to. They fell just short of the Oak Park-River Forest Huskies by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Red Devils have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Nora Bergin paced Hinsdale Central's offense, picking up 12 kills. Bergin got some help from Caitlin Leddy and her 24 assists. Leddy also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Maeve Bergin, each putting up two.

Among those leading the charge was Edie Carroll, who had 12 assists and five digs. That's the most digs she has posted over her last eight matchups.

Hinsdale Central's defeat dropped their record down to 16-18. As for Oak Park-River Forest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 22 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season.

Hinsdale Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oak Park-River Forest, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Lyons on the 4th.
