Basketball Recap: Washington Falls to Desert Edge in First Game of Season

Washington had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a hard 69-54 fall against the Desert Edge Scorpions on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Scorpions: they've now lost four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Desert Edge to victory, but perhaps none more so than CJ Johnson, who shot 57% from the field on his way to 26 points and four steals. Mehki Storkel was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds.

Washington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 81-30 loss against Carl Hayden Community on the 21st. As for Desert Edge, they have also already played their next game, a 77-76 defeat against Estrella Foothills on the 21st.
