Basketball Game Preview: Centennial Baptist Mustangs vs. Horseshoe Bend Mustangs + How To Watch

Centennial Baptist will venture away from home to square off against Horseshoe Bend at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Centennial Baptist will be strutting in after a win while Horseshoe Bend will be coming in after a loss.

If Centennial Baptist beats Horseshoe Bend with 29 points on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Mustangs beat Greenleaf Friends Academy last Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 29-26. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won three in a row.

Centennial Baptist's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Katie Oostra, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Oostra a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anna Hayek, who posted six points in addition to eight boards and five assists.

Meanwhile, Horseshoe Bend was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against Garden Valley, falling 57-22. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-11.

Horseshoe Bend's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Centennial Baptist, their record is now 2-0.

Centennial Baptist couldn't quite finish off Horseshoe Bend in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 37-35. Can Centennial Baptist avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
