Pascagoula is 1-7 against Vancleave since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Pascagoula Panthers will square off against the Vancleave Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Pascagoula is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Last Friday, Pascagoula came up short against East Central and fell 7-4. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pascagoula saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Asante Dawson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Dawson hit this season. Caylie Waters was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Vancleave's hitters rose to the challenge against a Cougars pitching crew that boasted an average of only 2.56 runs allowed on Saturday. Vancleave put the hurt on Northwest Rankin with a sharp 12-4 victory.

Hadleigh Hall was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in triples. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Howard, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Vancleave was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Pascagoula's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Vancleave, their record now sits at 6-9.

Pascagoula's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. Pascagoula has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Vancleave, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Pascagoula continue to outrun the ball?

Pascagoula couldn't quite get it done against Vancleave when the teams last played back in April of 2022 as they fell 12-7. Can Pascagoula avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
