Pascagoula is 1-7 against Vancleave since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Vancleave's hitters rose to the challenge against a Cougars pitching crew that boasted an average of only 2.56 runs allowed on Saturday. Vancleave put the hurt on Northwest Rankin with a sharp 12-4 victory.
Hadleigh Hall was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in triples. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Howard, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Vancleave was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Pascagoula's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Vancleave, their record now sits at 6-9.
Pascagoula's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. Pascagoula has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Vancleave, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Pascagoula continue to outrun the ball?
