Emerald's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Southside Tigers 3-0. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Emerald took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-4, 25-15, 25-13.

Lauren Thomas paced Emerald's offense, picking up nine kills. Thomas got some help from Emily Erskine and her 19 assists. Thomas was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Emerald's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Southside, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Emerald is set to face off against their familiar foe Fountain Inn at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Southside will challenge rival Wren at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
