Riverhead has gone 8-1 against Central Islip recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Blue Waves will look to defend their home field against the Musketeers at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Riverhead has five straight wins, Central Islip has 20 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Riverhead is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 15-13 victory over Westhampton Beach on Wednesday. While the Blue Waves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Central Islip didn't have quite enough to beat Brentwood on Friday and fell 4-3.

David Solomon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits.

At the plate, Central Islip saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yandy Hernandez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Hernandez also put up a hit, which was his first of the season. Another was Joslan Hernandez, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Central Islip's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Riverhead, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Riverhead skirted past Central Islip 6-5 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Blue Waves repeat their success, or do the Musketeers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
