Basketball Recap: San Simon Falls Despite Big Games from Alexia Newell and Bryleigh Sloan + How To Watch

San Simon had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They received a blow on Thursday as they fell 34-18 to the Desert View Jaguars.

Despite the defeat, San Simon had strong showings from Bryleigh Sloan, who posted 12 points and four steals, and Alexia Newell, who earned four points and eight rebounds. Sloan has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played.

Desert View can attribute much of their success to Solana Celaya, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zarryanna Bacon, who had seven points.

The victory (which was Desert View's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

San Simon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 29-20 loss against Desert Christian on the 21st. As for Desert View, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 39-19 win against The Gregory School on the 21st.
