Basketball Recap: Patrick Henry Academy Starts Season with Victory Against Bible Baptist Christian

Patrick Henry Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Bible Baptist Christian Wolves by a score of 51-42.

Saquoia Sexton had an outrageously good game as she dropped a double-double with 16 points and 16 boards. Those 16 rebounds gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emilee Stanley, who posted 15 points along with five assists and five boards.

Patrick Henry Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 15 consecutive games dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Bible Baptist Christian lost, don't look at Takeithra Hanna. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double with 40 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 95.2% of the Wolves' points, marking the third time in a row Hanna has had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tabitha Harris, who earned nine boards, six steals, and six blocks.

Bible Baptist Christian is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
