Basketball Recap: Blair Takes a Loss

Blair was the 44-31 winner over Plattsmouth when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Blair Bears fell to the Plattsmouth Blue Devils 43-39. The Bears were up 27-13 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

When it comes to explaining why Blair lost on Thursday, don't look at Addie Sullivan. Despite the final result, she posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Kate Wulf, who had ten points.

Plattsmouth's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jolie Dix led the charge by putting up 15 points and three steals. Dix has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played. Averi Winters was another key player, posting 17 points.

Blair has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Plattsmouth, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blair will host Gretna at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Plattsmouth, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Nebraska City at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th.
