Baseball Recap: Bishop McDevitt Comes Up Short

Bishop McDevitt extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 5-5. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carlisle Bison. Crusaders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Bison since Wednesday.

Easton Comp made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Ryan Sprow also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

As for Carlisle, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

On Carlisle's side, the team relied heavily on Isaiah Ream, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those four hits gave Ream a new career-high. Owen Vioral was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Coming up, Bishop McDevitt will challenge Palmyra at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carlisle, they will take on Northern York at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
