Unioto dropped their record down to 9-6 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Bishop Watterson Eagles, falling 13-3. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Shermans, who until this contest were averaging 3.2 runs allowed.

Unioto saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keegan Snyder, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double. Caden Speakman was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

As for Bishop Watterson, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1-1. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Bishop Watterson's side, Blaise Strausbaugh led a balanced Eagles bullpen and pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Strausbaugh has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Chance Strausbaugh was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Mulligan, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

Unioto and Bishop Watterson should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Shermans (ranked 171st) will meet Piketon (ranked 550th) at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Bishop Watterson will face off against St. Francis DeSales at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (30 vs. 98).
