Softball Recap: Blackfoot Takes Down Ranked Skyline

Blackfoot faced Skyline in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Broncos put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 11-2 win. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by nine runs or more this season.

Traylee Reid made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Emma McGuire was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Keslyn Reid was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Blackfoot lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least three home runs in three consecutive games.

Blackfoot's record is now 11-6. As for Skyline, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-5 record this season.

Blackfoot will have a chance to go back-to-back against Skyline: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
