Baseball Recap: Schurr Gets the Win

Schurr lost to Diamond Bar back in April of 2016, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Spartans skirted past the Brahmas 9-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

James Borbon was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joshua Talavera, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Schurr was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Diamond Bar only posted a batting average of .261.

Schurr's win bumped their record up to 11-16. As for Diamond Bar, they dropped their record down to 13-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Schurr will look to defend their home field on the 14th against Hesperia Christian at 3:15 p.m. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.65 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of. Diamond Bar does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
