Basketball Recap: Tim Skeel's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Leechburg over Aquinas Academy

Leechburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 63-41 to the Aquinas Academy Crusaders. If the Blue Devils were looking for revenge after losing 79-50 to the Crusaders when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tim Skeel, who posted eight points and 11 rebounds. Skeel is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Nick Hilty was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

Leechburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Leechburg has already played their next game, a 66-34 loss against Serra Catholic on the 5th. As for Aquinas Academy, they will take on Riverview at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
