Softball Recap: East Coweta's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

East Coweta extended their winning streak to eight on Thursday, bumping them up to 21-3. They put the hurt on the Northgate Vikings with a sharp 9-2 win. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 matchups by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Payton Roberson, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Kelleher, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

As for Northgate, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-7. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Northgate's side, they got a good showing from Kylie Pack, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Pack has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Northgate saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trinity Hargrett, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Looking ahead, East Coweta will square off against Westlake at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northgate, they will head out on the road to face off against McIntosh at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chiefs have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
