Softball Recap: Morton Takes a Loss

Morton fell victim to East Peoria and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Raiders, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in April.

Morton has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for East Peoria, their victory bumped their record up to 20-9.

Morton and East Peoria are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Potters will venture away from home to face off against Normal University at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pioneers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Morton's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for East Peoria, they will head out on the road to challenge Streator at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
