Football Game Preview: Mineola Mustangs vs. Manhasset Indians

The Mineola Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Manhasset Indians on Saturday. Mineola is looking for their season's first victory.

Mineola is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Valley Stream North on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Mustangs were outmatched by the Spartans and fell 42-8. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly 34 points.

Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Manhasset, as they earned their first away win of the season. They walked away with a 28-16 victory over Sewanhaka on Saturday. Manhasset has beaten Sewanhaka the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Sewanhaka has come to flipping the script.

Manhasset's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Mineola, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Mineola was taken down by Manhasset 42-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
