Baseball Preview: East Bakersfield Blades vs. North Stars
For the second straight game, East Bakersfield will face off against North. The Blades will host the Stars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when East Bakersfield and North meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Blades walked away with a 6-1 win over the Stars.
ESIAH SANTIAGO made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. He is becoming a predictor of East Bakersfield's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 5-9 when he doesn't).
