Baseball Recap: Nipomo Takes a Loss

Nipomo and Santa Ynez squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Nipomo had to settle for second. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Nipomo saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Silveira, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Nipomo dropped their record down to 14-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Santa Ynez, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-7.

Nipomo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Santa Ynez, they will challenge Monache at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Marauders have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
