Volleyball Recap: Burlington's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Burlington had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Iola Mustangs by a score of 2-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Burlington took both sets by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-11.

Bianca Bortolotti paced Burlington's offense, picking up eight kills. Bortolotti got some help from Alexa Splechter and her 21 assists.

Burlington's win bumped their record up to 24-4. As for Iola, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-20.

Coincidentally, Burlington and Iola will both be playing Wellsville the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will head out to face the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
