Softball Game Preview: Richard Montgomery Rockets vs. Springbrook Blue Devils

The Richard Montgomery Rockets and the Springbrook Blue Devils, after both having extra time off, will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Richard Montgomery is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Damascus just ended the team's four-game winning streak last Saturday. They lost 12-0 to the Swarmin' Hornets.

Meanwhile, Springbrook fell victim to Wheaton and their airtight pitching crew last Saturday. They came up short against the Knights, falling 16-0. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Springbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Richard Montgomery, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Richard Montgomery got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2024 against Springbrook by a conclusive 21-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
