Soccer Game Preview: Sallisaw vs. Wagoner

The Sallisaw Black Diamonds will take on the Wagoner Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Sallisaw sitting on ten straight wins and Wagoner on four.

Sallisaw had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the ten-goal drubbing they dealt McLain Science & Tech on Tuesday. The Black Diamonds were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Titans. Considering Sallisaw have won ten contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit McLain Science & Tech with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Wesley Rodriguez (4), Ethan Girdner (4), and Cesar Morales (3).

Meanwhile, Wagoner kept a clean sheet against Stilwell on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Wagoner's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Sallisaw, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1.

Everything went Sallisaw's way against Wagoner when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Sallisaw made off with a 4-0 win. Will the Black Diamonds repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
