Basketball Recap: Ellicott Falls Despite Big Games from Lazarus Brillar and Tavon Flewellen

Ellicott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 40-27 to the Calhan Bulldogs. The Thunderhawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Tavon Flewellen and Lazarus Brillar certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Flewellen posted six points along with five assists and three steals, while Brillar earned seven points.

Ellicott's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Ellicott will take on Fort Morgan in a tournament on Thursday. As for Calhan, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Fowler at 6:30 p.m.
