Football Recap: Hanover Takes a Loss

Hanover and Archbishop Williams squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Hanover had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bishops by a score of 28-26. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Hawks have suffered since November 28, 2024.

Hanover's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Archbishop Williams, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-0.

Hanover will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Norwell at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for Archbishop Williams, they will challenge Foxborough at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' defense has only allowed 10.7 points per game this season, so the Bishops' offense will have their work cut out for them.
