Preview: California Trojans vs. Carrick Raiders
California has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Carrick Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 13 more assists than your opponent, a fact California proved on Thursday. They managed a 73-67 victory over Bentworth. The win was just what California needed coming off of a 76-34 loss in their prior game.
California got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Vincent Manzella out in front who scored 20 points along with eight assists. Noah Neil was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Carrick scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Westinghouse 77-37 on the road. That looming 77-37 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Carrick yet this season.
California's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Carrick, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
California was able to grind out a solid victory over Carrick when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 57-47. Does California have another victory up their sleeve, or will Carrick turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
