Volleyball Recap: Natalie Michelman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Whitfield over Villa Duchesne

Whitfield lost against Villa Duchesne back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Warriors came up short against the Saints, falling 3-0. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Whitfield ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-17, 25-18.

Whitfield's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalie Michelman, who had 22 digs and two assists. Another player making a difference was Gabi Gutierrez, who had five digs and three aces.

Whitfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Villa Duchesne, their record now sits at 2-5.

Whitfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Principia on the 16th. As for Villa Duchesne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Burroughs on the 16th.
