Basketball Recap: Kellen Schmidt's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Blue Hill over Bruning-Davenport/Shickley

While it was all tied up 23-23 at halftime, Blue Hill was not quite Bruning-Davenport/Shickley's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a 53-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Blue Hill's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kellen Schmidt, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards. Brady Karr was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Blue Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blue Hill will square off against Alma at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bruning-Davenport/Shickley, they will challenge Diller-Odell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
