Basketball Game Preview: Elwood Panthers vs. Madison-Grant Argylls

Elwood hasn't had much luck against Madison-Grant recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Elwood Panthers will take on the Madison-Grant Argylls at 6:00 p.m. Madison-Grant took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Elwood, who comes in off a win.

Elwood will bounce into Friday's match after beating Tipton, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Elwood simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Tipton 46-17. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Madison-Grant played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 89-14 loss at the hands of Lapel. The Argylls haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Madison-Grant's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Elwood, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-3 record.

Elwood was dealt a bruising 62-28 loss at the hands of Madison-Grant in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Elwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
