Basketball Game Preview: Alhambra Bulldogs vs. Northgate Broncos

The Alhambra Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Northgate Broncos at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Alhambra took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Berean Christian with a sharp 65-42 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Northgate had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Matadors 87-62. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Northgate's win came from a few key players Alhambra will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was David Harris, who went 9 of 14 en route to 19 points. Nico Martin was another key player, going 7 for 11 on his way to 18 points.

Northgate was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Alhambra's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Northgate, they have also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Alhambra won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, slipping by Northgate 52-51. Will Alhambra repeat their success, or does Northgate have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
