Football Recap: Anson Takes a Loss

Anson had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 6-3 to make it four. They came up short against the Cisco Loboes, falling 35-14. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

As for Cisco, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.4 points on average over those games.

Colby McIlroy had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 169 yards and one touchdown, while also throwing for 95 yards and one TD on only eight passes. Those 169 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Coming up, Anson will square off against Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Cisco, they will face off against Olney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Loboes will be up against the Cubs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.56 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
