Softball Game Preview: Jefferson Davis County Jaguars vs. McLaurin Tigers

The Jefferson Davis County Jaguars will venture away from home to square off against the McLaurin Tigers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Jefferson Davis County can't be too happy about their upcoming road matchup considering what happened when they opened their season away from home last Friday. They fell 11-6 to Stringer. The Jaguars have struggled against the Red Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Layla Hathorn was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kawuai Stewart, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for McLaurin's offense. They came up short against Seminary last Thursday, falling 17-0.
