Baseball Game Preview: Clarkstown South Vikings vs. Fox Lane Foxes

The Clarkstown South Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Fox Lane Foxes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Clarkstown South will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

On Wednesday, it was close, but Clarkstown South sidestepped Putnam Valley for a 2-1 victory.

Ryan Karcher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Clarkstown South secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Trevor Reim, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, after a string of ten wins, Fox Lane's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 8-4 to Clarkstown North.

Clarkstown South's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Fox Lane, their loss dropped their record down to 13-3.
