Football Game Preview: Germantown Academy Patriots vs. Malvern Prep Friars

Germantown Academy is 0-9 against Malvern Prep since October of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 12:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Germantown Academy took a loss when they played away from home back in September, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Saturday. They secured a 19-14 W over Peddie. The 19-point effort marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Malvern Prep is ranked highly in their home state and two weeks ago they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Gonzaga. The Friars came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 31-24. Winning may never get old, but the Friars sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Germantown Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Malvern Prep, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Germantown Academy took a serious blow against Malvern Prep in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 44-7. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Patriots were down 37-0.
