Volleyball Game Preview: Pinecrest Patriots vs. Myers Park Mustangs

The Pinecrest Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Myers Park Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Myers Park took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Pinecrest, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, Pinecrest earned a 3-1 win over Cape Fear. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Pinecrest was actually outscored in aggregate across those four sets (93-92), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 17-25, 25-23, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Myers Park came up short against Hough on Wednesday and fell 3-1. The Mustangs have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

While Myers Park ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-20, 19-25, 25-23.

Myers Park's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Pinecrest, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.

Pinecrest might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Myers Park when the teams last played back in October of 2019. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
